Target Stores Coupon Policy

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores.

• Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)
• Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
• We gladly accept valid internet coupons

Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.

When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
• We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

If you are having issues with Target regarding "one coupon per purchase" and your local Target store is insisting that it is limited to "one coupon per transaction". It is 100% wrong and corporate WILL back you up on that. Here is a quote from Target on what to do: “All Target stores should be following the same coupon policy. The next time you have an issue using coupons please have them call us at (800) 440-0680 while you’re still in the store. Our Guest Relations Team will help assist with any questions they may have about coupons.” Remember that they are getting paid for the coupon plus a handling fee by the manufacturer.

Recently, mydfwmommy received the following information via phone from Target Guest Relations reagrding coupons on 4/29. This is what was stated on the phone:

1.) Mandatory training is going to be happing ASAP with ALL employees concerning coupons as they have received a LOT of complaints. The materials are done waiting to be picked up at the printers and they will go out to the stores this next week!

2.) Coupons are mainly ONLY updated on Sundays and there are not print limits (like when 10000 print them, they are gone)

3.) ANY printed coupon from Target.com ARE ALL considered Target coupons and can stack with a manufact. coupon. She said that even though they say manufacturer they are stackable

4.) You can NOT use a B1G1 Free Target on top of a B1G1 free manufacturer

5.) If you have a coupon to get something for free...the store has the right to limit how many you get in one transaction. They will need to have a sign posted.
