There is a sticky sheet that adheres to the wall and then you just turn on your dual-action pen and turn off the lights. As your child motions the light beam on the paper sheet it draws. The set comes with stencils too, so you can make all kinds of shapes.

We did have to attach the sheet to the wall using pins though, our walls are tectured.
We had tons of fun and Daddy enjoyed playing with them too. In just a short time the image disappears and you can create a new image. So this could go on for quite a while, you can imagine. This is the perfect gift for 3-8 year olds in my opinion.
