Beauty and the Beast 3D Hits Theatres Today (1/13)

Last night I attended an advanced screening with my 6-year old daughter the advance screening of the return of the 1991 Disney classic Beauty and the Beast in 3D. Today, January 13th, it is now playing nationwide and for the first time in 3D.

The original version was the first animated feature to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, in 1992. The voice of the princess Belle was Paige O'Hara and the voice of the beast was Robbie Benson. Last night sitting with us to watch the screening was Paige O'Hara herself which was quite an honor to say the least to have her watching the screening with us, only in Vegas!

The 3D effects add a lot of element to the movie. If you are a fan of Beauty and the Beast and looking to feel the effects of 3D - this movie is for you and your children! Disney makes you feel like you are part of the film with the 3D effects. There were times we were reaching in front of us to touch the trees and the castle. The beast is in some parts terrifying, which my daughter asked me to cuddle her during these moments of the movie, so proceed with caution with youngsters under 5.

I would highly recommend the movie in 3D - brilliant! I am happy to be able to share this beautiful story with my daughter. The positive message the movie sends to the children especially girls is perfect. Belle is a great role model for young girls because she values learning, she stands up for what she believes in, she is well grounded, and most importantly she knows how to see what is in on the inside and not judge someone only on their outside. Belle is a great role model for all children.
