Let me start by saying WOW!
I had the opportunity on 4/27 to see an advanced screening for, what I will now say is the best action hero movie ever, The Avengers. This movie rocked to say the least.
If your not familiar with the film it’s based on the Marvel comic series putting six super heroes together to kick some butt and save the human race. I have to say the men, Iron Man, The Incredible hulk, Thor, Captain America and Hawkeye are not hard to look at, but I especially love when a filmmaker has a women holding her own, which Black Widow did for sure.
If your thinking to yourself why watch a movie that I know nothing about, don’t worry they did a great job giving you just what you need in back stories to understand. Being that they never did movies for Black Widow and Hawkeye I wasn’t sure who they were but they were thoroughly explained. This movie was anything but slow and had me on the edge of my seat for a lot of the film. Not to mention all the oohs and ahhs coming from my mouth in amazement and surprise. There is tons of action, of course, but what I didn’t expect was the aspects of humor and sarcasm which was needed in the midst of all the fighting. The special effects are incredible and watching it in 3D made it that much better. Some of my favorite parts were watching The Hulk SMASH stuff.
The film is rated PG-13 for the violence, but don’t be deterred from taking your children they are going to love it. I do not typically take my family to the theatre to see movies with the crazy prices these days, but I am and will be taking my husband and our 3 kids ages 11, 7, and 18 months to see this in 3D. And before we go I we will be having a Marvel movie marathon at home watching all the movies leading up to this one. I’m excited to say the least. Family time plus great flix who could ask for more.
Go see this movie if you don’t you will be disappointed for sure!
