Smart & Final is the perfect one-stop shopping location for the holidays!
Their products range from private label items to national brands. You can find sizes ranging from small household sizes to large bulk sizes. And they carry loads of things from fresh produce to kitchen supplies. Of course their prices are substantially lower than traditional grocery stores, allowing you to save money during the busy holiday season! One of my favorite things about Smart & Final is that they also accept manufacturer coupons on top of their great prices. You also don't need to pay for a yearly membership fee either!
Did you know that Smart & Final is named after its founders? J.S. Smart and H.D. Final. I just thought it was a catchy name! LOL...They have been in business for over 140 years, therefore, one of the longest contiguously operated food retailers in the US.
First Street is Smart & Final's master private label and typically will be the best priced item(s) in the store. They have loads of products and offer a "Try it. Like it; Or your money back" guaranty.
I love that Smart & Final is easy to navigate through... the stores average about 20,000 ft. which is significantly smaller than chain warehouse stores. They also carry smaller items, so not everything has to be purchased in bulk! Truly a one-stop shop. I also love that they actually carry select items that other warehouse stores just don't carry...the amount of sno cone syrup varieties are amazing! You won't find that down the street! The stores also cater to the tastes of the neighborhoods that they serve.

Here's a recipe for Spicy Ginger & Orange Glazed Chicken Wings by Chef Jamie Gwen.
Ingredients
4 pounds First Street raw chicken wings
1 cup First Street orange juice concentrate
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
1/4 cup First Street granulated sugar
3 tablespoons La Romanella olive oil
4 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 to 2 teaspoons Tradewinds red pepper flakes
6 green onions, thinly sliced
Directions:
In a large plastic, resealable bag or a large container with a lid, combine the orange juice concentrate, lemon juice, Hoisin sauce, sugar, olive oil, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Seal and shake to mix well. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat. Refrigerate the wings for at least 24 hours, or up to 2 days.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Drain the wings from the marinade and spread the wings on the foil. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until cooked through and caramelized.
To serve the marinade as a sauce, place the marinade in a small saucepot, bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes to reduce the sauce and compound the flavors and to make the marinade safe to eat.
Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with the scallions.
