NEW Del Taco Ensaladas Review & $20 Gift Card Giveaway

Del Taco recently began offering new Handcrafted Ensaladas! Priced at just $5.49, these made to order salads are all under 600 calories. They will have you stopping in or driving-thru for a taste.
Choose from three delicious salads: Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad, Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad and/or Signature Taco Salad.

I recently had the opportunity to try these Ensalads from Del Taco and I was impressed.
I love salads, but I don't like to dish out over $10 for a handcrafted one. I also love Mexican food flare and the salad I used to be able to easily get at a drive-thru no longer exists. It left me without, longing for a replacement. I hadn't been able to fill that void until now.

Signature Taco Salad
My first try was the Signature Taco Salad. This salad features seasoned beef, freshly sliced Hass avocado, handmade pico de gallo salsa, cheddar cheese freshly grated from 40-pound blocks, chopped cilantro, seasoned black beans, fresh house-made tortilla chips, and real sour cream on a mix of fresh crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce. Served with salsa casera and only 540 calories.

Prefer ground turkey over beef? Just ask for it to be substituted!
Going veggie? No problem, just ask for your salad without meat.
I left out the cheese on mine...
This salad was so refreshing and crisp...like a taco. I loved that Del Taco includes a few chips too.
It was filling and the avocado was creamy. The dressing, salsa casera, has a bite to it, but it isn't too spicy. It balances out the flavors very well. I have finally found my salad, or so I thought...

Chicken Bacon Avocado
Then I tried the Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad. YUMMO...I can't pick just one favorite now.
This salad contains freshly grilled marinated chicken, fresh sliced Hass avocado, crispy hand-chopped bacon, handmade pico de gallo salsa, chopped cilantro, and fresh house-made tortilla chips atop a mix of fresh crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce. Served with new cilantro pepita ranch dressing and only 590 calories. Bacon people, bacon!!! This salad was delicious too. The cilantro pepita ranch dressing was creamy and and paired with the avocado, it was really decadent. It cut through the fat by the bacon and that saltyness was a great accompanment to the chicken. The crisp lettuce and juicy tomato rounded it all together.

Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad: includes a fresh blend of romaine and iceberg lettuce topped with fresh sliced Hass avocado, handmade pico de gallo salsa, chopped cilantro, fresh house-made tortilla chips, spicy jack cheese, seasoned black beans, and freshly grilled marinated chicken. Served with salsa casera and only 510 calories.

For a limited time, you can download a coupon for a FREE small drink with the purchase of a salad.
