Disney's Zootopia movie opens today, 3/4, in theaters nationwide. It is available in 3D and standard definitions.
Synopsis
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard whom directed “Tangled” and “Bolt” along with Rich Moore of “Wreck-It Ralph” and “The Simpsons”. It is co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”).

Our Review
Disney's Zootopia is a great movie for the entire family! I think it contains more comedy than any other Disney movie. But, it isn't all comedy. The comedy is located mostly in the front half of the movie, where as the back half is full of adventure and a bit more serious. There are so many adult jokes to keep you entertained alongside the kiddos. And if you are a Breaking Bad fan, then you'll love that there is a sequence scene with reference to the show. There are many other pop references too.
The animation was brilliantly done. I especially liked the attention to detail that is depicted in the city in regards to the animals taking on human-like qualities. The moral/lesson of the storyline is on point. They touch on the subjects of: dealing with a bully, race acceptance and breaking stereotypes. And in pure Disney fashion, they did an excellent job handling these more serious topics. I will say though there is a bit of scariness, so to speak, for younger kids in a few attack scenes when the animals give into their primal nature.
While I saw this in 3D, save your money...it isn't required for this film. There weren't many parts that just came out at you.
