Our Local Events Guide To The Weekend (April 23rd-24th) = Container Store, FREE Hot Wheels, Henderson Parade and More!

The Container Store has partnered with Goodwill to help our customers Kiss Clutter Goodbye with a goal to declutter, donate and do life – organized. With this, they are hosting in-store monetary donations for Goodwill through May and TWO donation and demonstration events at all stores this weekend and next!

Our Las Vegas store will host two Kiss Clutter Goodbye Weekend Events from 12pm – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 – 24 and April 30 – May 1. They’ll also have Goodwill representatives on hand to accept donations of new or used clothing, textiles, small appliances and household good (sorry, no mattresses, furniture, chemicals or paint). There will also be demonstrations set up throughout the store where our organizing experts will be sharing our top spring decluttering tips, demonstrating our favorite organizing solutions and even providing samples to take and try at home! Plus, there will also be prize drawings during the entire event!!


The Heritage Parade & Festival is an annual celebration of Henderson’s incorporation. 
The event honors the city’s rich history, including the people, events and places that pioneered Henderson’s legacy over the years, with a variety of family-friendly festivities. Admission is complimentary. The parade is down  Water Street at 10am.


*Lakeshore Learning FREE Saturday Craft from 11am -3pm. Aimed for children ages 3 and up. This Saturday, the FREE craft is April Showers Pop-Up Card. No reservations are required. More info here. If you cannot make this event, here is the instructions for how to do this on your own!

*Toys R Us - On Saturday, April 23rd from 11AM-1PM, head to your local ToysRUs store for a FREE Epic Hot Wheels Event where kids ages 6 and up will be able to take home a FREE Hot Wheels Collector Car (limit 1 per child). Plus, they’ll be able to test drive cars on “epic” tracks and even score a coupon to use on event day!


*Michaels - It's National Tie Dye month! Saturday, April 23rd from 1-3pm to learn how to decorate these t-shirt cookies FREE! In this FREE demo, our instructors will show you how to use fondant and buttercream icing to decorate tie-dye T-shirt cookies and swirled cupcakes.


*Michaels - Drop in for Kids Club from 10-noon on Saturday, April 23rd, where the kids will make a Tissue Paper Tie-Dye Art. Just $2 per child for 30 minutes of creative, craft fun – supplies included!

Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Space is limited. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.


*Michaels - Coloring Time For Adults is this Sunday, April 24th from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Cost: Free - Try your hand at the most relaxing trend in arts and crafts. We’ll provide the supplies; all you have to do is show up and color!

*Wet 'n Wild is open this weekend, Saturday 4/16 and Sunday, 4/17 from 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Please note: Due to cooler temperatures in spring, the lazy river will not open to the public until mid-May. Paradise Falls children's area will shutdown 1 hour prior to scheduled park close on 8pm and 10pm operating days.


*Cowabunga Bay is now open weekends. Operating hours are 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Saturday, 4/23 and Sunday, 4/24. Saturdays in April are Marvel Super Hero Saturdays. Bring your camera to take pics from 11-5 with your favorite Marvel Super Hero and then play the day away! April 23rd's hero is Iron Man!


*National Parks - Next week, more than 100 national parks will be waiving the entrance fees for National Park Week! Go to the National Park Service website for a list of participating parks. The National Park Service also has an easy-to-use directory of parks by name, location, activity and topic.

Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included.


*Las Vegas 51s - are back at home this week. Go here to purchase tickets!

Saturday, 4/23 7:05 PM - 51s Jersey Night -  Las Vegas Sign. The 51s will host the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, at Cashman Field! The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a 51s Jersey!!!

Sunday, 4/24 12:05 PM - Bark in the Park - The 51s will host the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, at Cashman Field! Bark in the Park will be presented! Special seating section for dogs and their owners in the Left Field Berm. Vaccination proof required.

Monday, 4/25 7:05 PM - Smith's Value Menu Monday - The 51s will host the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, at Cashman Field. Every Monday "home" game, the 51s and Aramark will feature discounted food items. Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Cracker Jacks and Pretzels will all be priced at $1.00 per item.

Tuesday, 4/26 10:35 AM - Smokers Strike Out 13th Annual School Day Game (10:35 a.m.)/ Sponsored by Anderson Dairy & Blue Bunny Ice Cream - The 51s will host the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, at Cashman Field! The Smokers Strike Out 13th Annual School Day Game features a "Field Trip" for fifth grade students from the Clark County School District. The Tobacco Awareness Program is an important event that takes place prior to the "School Day" game that serves to educate the young students on the dangers of cigarette smoking.
