Whole Foods may not be known as "Whole Paycheck" too much longer.

Amazon purchased Whole Foods Market on June 16, 2017 and the changes are coming. Amazon had announced that they’ll be cutting Whole Foods’ prices significantly, beginning this Monday (8/28). The company will be lowering prices of best-selling grocery staples and offering lower prices on more items over time.

“Customers will enjoy lower prices on products like Whole Trade bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, creamy and crunchy almond butter, organic Gala and Fuji apples, organic rotisserie chicken, 365 Everyday Value organic butter, and much more,” Amazon said in a press release.

Of course being a Prime member will have new perks as Amazon Prime members will get even more savings at Whole Foods.

Plus, Whole Foods private label products like 365 Everyday Value, Whole Foods Market, Whole Paws and Whole Catch will eventually be available through Amazon.com, AmazonFresh, Prime Pantry and Prime Now. Score!!!

Amazon Lockers will also start appearing in select stores where customers can have products shipped from Amazon.com to a local Whole Foods store for pickup. Pretty neat.

We'll keep you informed as we know even more.
