Resurrecting Anthony Book Review & Giveaway

"Resurrecting Anthony--A True Story of Courage & Destination" tells the story of a family's struggles after their 12 yr old son, Anthony, has a heart attack & collapses on the school playground and paramedics had a difficult time resuscitating him (4-5 minutes & 13 attempts to shock his heart back into rhythm), which ultimately causes global traumatic brain injury (result of being without oxygen to the brain for an extended period of time), leaving him in a coma for more than a year.

This book was unbelieveably encouraging. As I read this book, I found myself alongside the family through their struggles with medical setbacks and issues that Anthony faced. It is written by Anthony's parents, Linda and Tony Cole, as Tony Cole saw it from his perspective. How different men see things in a crisis. I felt their struggle with the loss of the life Anthony had before the "incident". Anthony's life turned out to be so different than what they could have imagined before but he did emerge as great boy. The family brought him back with their courage, strength and love.

This book was a great read and a good reminder of how fragile life can be. I am a little emotional so I needed Kleenex for this one and I held my boys a little tighter this weekend after reading. If you are in a family crisis or just need encouragement about life, than read this book. I know that I am overwhelmed here in Vegas with the staggeringly high unemployment rate and how it is has affected my family. This just help me to put things back into perspective and not get caught up in the daily grind. It was just released on paperback on January 11th, so get your copy now. Happy Reading!
